DESFire EV3 has been added to the MIFARE DESFire family of smart card chipsets from NXP. This addition introduces more features that HID have taken full advantage of.

The HID-801HPROG compatibility profile credential maintains backwards compatibility with iCLASS SE R10/9xxNxx and multiCLASS SE RP10/9xxPxx readers and will be custom programmed by HID.

HID DESFire EV3 cards leverage security features including AES128 encryption, secure channel-based file transfer and proximity check to protect card data from attacks.
