The NG Technology NG-LCLCSD-10 is a flexible optical, transparent fibre made by drawing glass (silica) to a diameter slightly thicker than human hair. Optical fibres are used most often as a means to transmit light between the two ends of fibre and are widely used in fibre-optic communication, where it permits transmission over longer distances and higher bandwidths (data transfer rate). By using fibre instead of metal, there is less loss in signal in addition to being immune to electromagnetic interference.
Single mode (9/125um) fibre patch cords are the best choice for transmitting data over longer distances. They are usually utilised for connections over large area such as college campuses, remote offices, etc. They provide higher bandwidth than multimode to deliver up to twice the throughput.
